Unlike lead-acid batteries, gel batteries are maintenance-free, requiring no electrolyte replenishment. Gel Battery Durability Gel batteries are known for their long lifespan; with proper use, they can last up to several years. They also exhibit greater resistance to varying and extreme weather conditions. Automatic Discharge (25°C) Gel batteries can be stored for months without charging. Their capacity decreases to: * 91% after 3 months * 82% after 6 months * 64% after 9 months Choosing a Gel Battery Appropriate dimensions are not everything. Battery capacity should be between 90% and 110% of the recommended capacity for your device. Output voltage should also be very close to the recommended value (+/- 0.2V).
